MORE DAVID THAN DAVID: Impostor Containment Protocol Activated (written by David Charles Kramer aka DJ Buddy Holly)

MORE DAVID THAN DAVID

Impostor Containment Protocol Activated

1. OPEN — “More Human Than Human”

White Zombie — “More Human Than Human” plays low in the background.

Neon flickers. Bar half full. Nobody really paying attention.

The riff creeps in—dirty, mechanical.

A voice from the side of the room:

“You ever notice… the fake ones always smile first?”

Another voice:

“Yeah.”

“Too early.”

“Too wide.”

“Like they already think they won.”

The kid walks in.

Tall. Thin. Hoodie hanging wrong.

Controller strapped to his chest like it’s a weapon.

And that smile.

“See?” the first voice mutters.

“There it is.”

He grabs the mic.

Right as the beat hits—

“Yo,” he says.

“I’m David.”

Bartender, without looking:

“No, you’re not.”

The smile doesn’t move.

2. THE PITCH

Fluorescent lights hum.

Government-gray room.

Seehan Silverton stands at the front.

Behind him—

his crew.

Trying to look dangerous.

Failing.

Slide:

DJ INDUSTRY DISRUPTION INITIATIVE

Click.

Power gloves.

Nintendo controllers.

Motion rigs.

“No more CDJs,” Seehan says.

“No more gatekeeping.”

A supervisor leans back.

“You’re replacing professional equipment… with toys?”

Seehan smiles.

“Not toys.”

“Access.”

Another voice:

“And David Charles Karma?”

Seehan doesn’t blink.

“We don’t beat him.”

Pause.

“We become him.”

Behind him, Buzz whispers:

“He’s about to change everything.”

Socket mutters:

“He’s about to get us all fired.”

3. THE GEEK GANG

They call themselves a gang.

THE GEEK GANG

They walk in formation.

Speak in code.

Act like they’re above everyone.

Reality?

People whisper:

“Who are these losers?”

Still—

they have just enough authority to make things happen.

And Seehan—

he believes it.

4. WEAPONIZED INCOMPETENCE

Clubs. Weddings. Backyards.

Same line.

“Yo, I’m David.”

Same chaos.

Off-beat kicks.

Songs crashing.

Dead air.

And that smell.

At a wedding:

Bride whispering:

“This is NOT him.”

Seehan on the mic:

“Trust the process.”

Smile.

At a club:

Promoter yelling:

“Kill the sound!”

Seehan yelling back:

“This is the real version!”

Smile.

But something changes.

People stop asking.

Start recognizing.

“That’s the fake guy.”

“Yeah.”

“The smile.”

5. REALITY CHECK

Meanwhile—

David plays.

CDJs.

REV7.

Numark NS7III.

Denon Prime.

Real gear.

Real control.

He steps up.

Doesn’t say a word.

Presses play.

The entire room locks in instantly.

No gimmick.

No smile.

Just truth.

6. THE CRACK

Mirror.

Backstage.

Alone.

“You think I wanted this?” Seehan snaps.

Silence.

“You think I wanted to be the joke?”

His voice drops.

“I just didn’t want to be nobody.”

Pause.

The smile comes back.

Forced.

“So I fixed it.”

7. GLOBAL ESCALATION

He pushes further.

Forums.

Contacts.

Leaks.

“If they won’t believe me here…”

“…I’ll go global.”

And someone listens.

South Korea.

Not official.

But interested.

8. THE FILM — SILVERMAN

It drops.

K-pop backed.

Stylized.

Sharp.

A martial arts group hunts demons.

The demon?

Tall. Thin.

Smiling.

Wrong.

Seehan watches alone.

At first—he laughs.

“They copied me.”

Then the lines hit.

“You echo what you don’t understand.”

“You were never him.”

“You don’t exist without the mask.”

The smile fades.

9. PARANOIA

Dark room.

Screen glowing.

“…do you think they’re coming for me?”

Silence.

“They wouldn’t…”

He looks at the door.

The window.

The mirror.

“…right?”

Nothing answers.

10. CONTAINMENT

Same gray room.

A file drops.

“We knew,” a supervisor says.

Seehan blinks.

“…knew what?”

“That you were impersonating him.”

“You thought this was your operation?”

Silence.

“We let it happen.”

“Why?”

The answer is cold.

“You weren’t the disruption.”

Pause.

“You were the control group.”

Seehan’s smile twitches.

“Every time you showed up…”

“…he looked better.”

“You didn’t destroy him.”

Beat.

“You purified him.”

11. THE MESSAGE

Phone buzz.

Unknown sender.

“I used U.”

He stares.

U.

Used.

Used.

Used.

The word loops.

The smile cracks.

12. BETRAYAL

The Geek Gang turns.

“You said we’d take over!” Patch yells.

“We moved for this!” Wrenchy adds.

“You said it was real!” Buzz shakes.

Socket steps forward.

“You lied.”

Seehan backs up.

“No—you don’t get it—”

Bitsy cuts him off.

“You changed people’s lives.”

Pause.

“For nothing.”

Fader speaks quietly.

“We met the real David.”

Silence.

“He’s nothing like you.”

Clip locks eyes.

“We believed in you.”

Beat.

“That was our mistake.”

They leave.

All of them.

13. THE FALL

No gigs.

No crew.

No belief.

Still—

he tries.

“Yo…” he says.

No one looks.

“…I’m David.”

A guy glances.

“Nah.”

“That’s the smile.”

Gone.

14. FINAL SCENE

Empty park.

Night air.

Seehan stands on a bench.

Controller dead.

Hands raised.

Waiting.

Nothing.

“Yo…” he says.

Silence.

“…I’m…”

He freezes.

Can’t finish it.

The smile flickers.

“…more David…”

he whispers.

“…than David ever was.”

Nothing answers.

15. OUTRO — FADE

Silence.

Then—

very faint—

a song begins to fade in.

🎵 “Astro… what do you know about rolling down in the deep…” 🎵

Distant.

Unrelated.

The world moving on.

Without him.

16. SYSTEM LOG

Cold. Final.

“Impostor Containment Protocol Complete.”

“Subject: Used.”

“Authentic signal remains dominant.”

The song continues—

faint—

🎵 “…when your brain goes numb…” 🎵

Seehan doesn’t move.

Still smiling.

But now—

it means nothing.

Got it? Get it? Good.
